The Rohingya are a stateless Muslim minority in Myanmar. Since 25 August 2017, more than 650,000 Rohingya have fled to Bangladesh following targeted violence against them in neighbouring Rakhine state, Myanmar. Most are living in makeshift settlements without adequate access to shelter, food, clean water or latrines. Many others are children or elderly people requiring additional aid and protection. The crisis shows little sign of abating and a significant increase of humanitarian aid is needed.
