The pont de Bir-Hakeim is a bridge that crosses the Seine River in Paris and connects the city?s 15th and 16th arrondissements. The bridge, which is made of steel, is the second to have stood at the site. It was designed by the architect Jean-Camille Formige and constructed between 1903 and 1905. I visited Paris in November 2016 and was drawn to the sinister and mysterious mood that the bridge provided on an overcast day. I used long exposure to eliminate any traffic and human element and to focus the attention of the viewer on the architecture of the bridge and the ambience of the location.
