In the beginning of 2018 I had a long discussion about the colour black & how it is pre-dominantly associated with negative stereotypes whilst white is always considered clean, beautifuly and good. I wanted to create a series that is dominated by black, creating a a strong, power- & beautiful scenery where white is not the default used as the good oponent to a bad black. Together with interchanging reality & clich?, past & future, artifical & natural any afrofuturism can only be black and never lead by white.
Why do you fear the dark, why do you search for the light? Why is black bad, why is white good? dark and light, black and white, good and bad, value and none, sin and salvation. Let´s interchange that, shall we? Black is a godly colour which represents the earth. The darker the earth, the richer the soil, the better the harvest. Without the rich and the dark, there is no live. So why do you fear it?
