Salt extraction is a traditional activity in Northwest Argentina. In the area of Salinas Grandes (Argentina), the appearance of lithium mining has provoked an increasing resistance among the indigenous communities. Salinero Ariel compares the salt with a tree. It gives life to him and to his village. It's a renewable resource so that he is able to harvest the salt year by year.
