After a night of heavy rain, all kind of marine debris was drifting from southern Taiwan, mainly from Kaohsiung and Pingtung area, gathering to an offshore island Xiaoliuqiu island. The pier and the beach of Vase Rock, the symbolic rock of the island, were all occupied by marine debris. Furthermore, one of the most important sea turtle nesting beach was no space for mother turtle crawling to lay their eggs due to the debris. The plastic we throw to the trash can is never gone. They just come back to us a time and another in other ways.
