Human towers have been one of the most important cultural traditions in the region of Catalonia, in Spain, for more than 200 years and have become part of the identity of Catalan people. For their success, a crowded and stunning structure of hundreds of men, children and women needs to be perfectly set up. This is the story of those who live the human towers from inside, those who are not seen. Those who feel the tower… without seeing it.

Biography

David Oliete is a freelance photographer born in 1986 in Tarragona, Spain. After living in Cardiff and Barcelona he came back to his hometown from where he currently works on mainly social and documentary projects. He has been involved in many documentary photography and video projects in countries such as Nepal, Korea, Morocco, Tunisia, Sweden, Italy or Spain. His recent work related to the Catalan Human Towers has been published worldwide. David is currently working on both personal and commissioned assignments in Spain and abroad.
