This series posits that children embody both the qualities needed to face contemporary crises and the anxiety it entails. I have watched my own children grow from innocence into jaded young adulthood. I both miss their youthful embrace of the world, and admire the determination with which they now try to change it. In this work, I transform images of my children when they were younger into superheroes. As adults, we need their spirit in the face of a world increasingly out of control. And yet, in vulnerable and ultimate impotent, children also embody the fears of a society on the brink.
