This moment was captured during my internship with shark behaviour researcher Dr. Erich Ritter in Grand Cay, Bahamas. Even though to some people this picture with two sharks swimming towards a boat might look frightening, there was nothing but tranquillity and a tiny bit of curiosity in the atmosphere. Swimming behind these Caribbean reef sharks made me feel like I was part of their world - like I was one of them.

Biography

My name is Gillian and I’m very passionate about sharks. The aim of my photography is to portray sharks in an aesthetically beautiful way and thus trying to change people’s perception of these utterly misunderstood animals. In doing so, I hope to raise awareness.
