In Fall 2019, the environmental activists of Extinction Rebellion protested throughout London occupying key sites, closing bridges, and storming government buildings. Their encampment in Trafalgar Square provided respite for the exhausted while speakers continued their speeches and supporters celebrated. Who could anticipate that the voice of such a massive demonstration would be extinguished by an oncoming worldwide pandemic? These images capture a final roar of crowds with a cause and a truly unique moment in world history. I think of their message on an unseasonably warm winter day.
