The Italian photographer Luigi Caputo has accompanied the Salzburg Festival on stage and behind the scenes with his camera for almost three decades. His pictures tell of a magical world, a world of transformations full of graceful beauty and fairytale elegance, they show fascinating views of mysterious places, they are a tribute to the artists of the Salzburg Festival. Anna Netrebko fervently sings Leonora in Il trovatore, Caroline Peters floats across the stage in a red gown as the Buhlschaft in Jedermann, and Simon Rattle beams with intensity as he conducts in the orchestra pit.
