The bio towers are an industrial monument in the southern Brandenburg town of Lauchhammer in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district (Germany). The 22 meter high landmark, which can be seen from afar and consists of 24 towers, was built in 1957 on the site of the former brown coal coking plant in the north of Lauchhammer-West and was put into operation in 1958/59. Operation of the facility was discontinued on December 31, 2002. Since July 17, 2008 the bio towers are public open as part of a project of the Fürst-Pückler-Land International Building Exhibition.
