The snow-covered fjords contain dramatic icebergs frozen in the sea ice over winter. Winter sea ice freezes, capturing the monolithic iceberg in a lead that extends out to the open ocean. The towering structure awaiting the summer melt to continue its journey around the Arctic currents.
