Theatre in Russian Prison, Perm, Sept 2009. Part of Territory Festival of that year. Series shows prison life, rehearsals & preparations, & performance. First instance of arts rehabilitation on such a scale in Russia. Joint Russian and British (Stanislavski trained) team. Actors were inmates accused of crimes from the mild to severe. Project sought to give expression and a notion of freedom to those who were ostensibly without such luxury, due to their physical circumstances.
