Janusz Russek(Poland)has been using the stage name Mr.Chap for many years. In 2023-24,he will be engaged by the largest Czech circus, Humberto. The photographs capture the clown in a way that the audience cannot see him. Preparations behind the scenes, life in his small caravan, the joys and worries of everyday life, when there is often no smile on his face. In the circus, the audience must not know that he is suffering from, for example, health, separation from family and many other everyday problems. In the circus, he always has to entertain people and sometimes it costs him a lot of energy.
