The challenge we were faced with in this photograph were not only show the athleticism and technique of our elite athlete, but also to highlight the fantastic interiors and fitting of our location. Using a dome port to minimise any distortion, combined with scuba style underwater lighting, we lit both under the water and interiors above. From then, it was the small matter of nailing the focus. On a subject moving through water, travelling diagonally across frame, this provided its own challenges!
