This bird's-eye view, of the Godley River, was taken during an exhilarating doors-off helicopter ride. It is an alpine braided river in New Zealand's South Island. The river flows south from Mt. Cook National Park at the Godley Glacier through the Southern Alps and into the top end of the glacial Lake Tekapo. It was challenging to line up this shot when my body was constantly buffeted by the wind which made it difficult to keep my camera steady.
