While shooting the Mercedes F1 launch images in the studio they wanted some additional more creative or abstract imagery of Lewis Hamilton's car that represented the kind of streaks and drama seen when shooting the cars racing on track at nightime. We created the light trails for real in the studio with long exposure times and coloured LED lights mounted on a moving rig. They were then refined and added to later in post production.
