I fell in love with Japan on my first visit. To me, it represents one of the highest forms of human civilization. Yet I felt a deep sympathy for the working people of Japan, especially those in Tokyo, the most densely populated place on earth. Though public transportation is highly advanced and people carry themselves with grace, it remains a quiet misery to commute like black ants. A tremendous loneliness seems to loom over the city. This series of images is my salute to them.
