This shot was taken on the last day of my trip to El Chaltén in 2024. The famous Patagonian trees look like fantastic creatures — this one, perhaps, a wooden Hydra. I actually like that the foreground is slightly out of focus; it enhances the feeling that the tree is in motion, twisting its tentacles and almost pulling the viewer into a surreal world. I titled the photo “The Wind-Land’s Grasp” because places like this never truly let you go — even long after you’ve left.
