The livestock migration takes place in the breathtaking natural landscape of the Altay Mountains of Xinjiang, China, where cattle and sheep thunder down the steep slopes, kicking up clouds of dust as they embark on their journey to the summer pastures nestled in the mountains. The migration has been practiced for centuries, passed down from generation to generation. It symbolizes the nomadic way of life and reflects the historical and cultural roots of the Altay region.
