The series Artificial Identity critically examines artificial intelligence and identity. The fundamental question: What creates a sense of identification with generative art for us as humans? The photo series consists of 7 images and shows people in various locations across Europe whose faces are unrecognizable. The abstract and surrealistic portrayal of humans appears somehow misplaced — as is often the case with AI-generated images. Many of these images (especially in the early phase around 2022) could be associated with the term "uncanny" (cf. the theory of the "uncanny valley").
