Zara, an Indigenous Comcaac artist and activist, and Brenda, a psychologist from Mexico City, fought to live their love freely in a territory where being a lesbian still means resistance. This photographic series documents their union and the first LGBT wedding ever celebrated in the Comcaac community, on Tiburón Island. Through their story, the project portrays the contrast between two worlds, the strength of their roots, and the right to exist without conditions. Their love becomes an act of courage, identity, and cultural transformation.
