In 2018, I visited the Arctic to document the effects of global warming on the Arctic Ice Sheet. The Arctic region is the fastest-warming place on earth, providing a first indication of how climate change is having an impact on the earth’s eco-system. The surface of the Ice Sheet is covered with thousands of rivers and lakes, through which meltwater flows over the ice, enters into it and then flows downstream into the ocean. Global sea-level rise will be one of the major environmental challenges of the 21st Century. One of the leading causes is the melting of ice from Glaciers and Ice Sheets.
