In an effort to escape poverty, Filipino children are being lured into the cybersex trade by human traffickers. Cybersex trafficking is a sinister form of modern-day slavery in the Philippines — the live sexual abuse of children streamed via the internet. "In Shadow” was created to amplify the voices of survivors on their journey to healing and recovery. The project through portraiture aims to make visible the lives of human trafficking survivors by engaging them in the creative process about how to best tell and represent their own personal stories.
