This image of the shoreline by night provides stark contrast to its atmosphere by day. Usually recognised as a bustling focal point for holidaymakers, a place that is awash with sunlight, vivid colours and noise. Night time transforms it to a lesser known place. The stillness and quiet are emphasised by the solitary building and its elongated shadow. The man-made light source replaces the sun exaggerating the sands yellow hue. The dark shoreline behind brings a real sense of drama to this unfamiliar scape. (Sandown, Isle of Wight, UK)
