Wearing a mask isn't only when you get sick, but a way to prevent infections. During the period of the SARS outbreak in Asia in 2003, almost everyone wore a mask to decrease the risk of infecting themselves or others. In the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, some Asian people encountered discriminate attack and critic in the US and Europe, because their public health concept of mask-wearing might fuel unnecessary panic. Obviously, we should respect and try to understand the culture of different countries, especially in this difficult situation, instead of a reproach.
