Rapa das Bestas (Shaving of the Beasts) is a 400-year-old festival that takes place in the heart of Galicia, Spain, over four days in July. The villagers head into the surroundings hills where they round up hundreds of wild horses, bringing them down to a stone compound where they are wrestled to the ground for a haircut. Rapa das Bestas is an impressive festival that celebrates the relationship between man and beast, humans and nature, tradition and modernity.
