This is a portrait of Ludmila, and elder woman of the Machiguenga tribe in the Peruvian Amazon. They are mostly found and live on the side of the "Madre de Dios" river close to Puerto Maldonado. I photographed Ludmila and other members of her Family during a visit to the area. I positioned near the river to show the environment they live it. In this area traditions are pretty much the same and despite being close to civilization the members of this family have a simple and traditional life in the jungle.
