The house of Nats - Mindat area, Chin State, Myanmar. Many Burmese people in more isolated areas, believe in spirits called nats. The Nats are spirits worshipped in Myanmar in conjunction with Buddhism. They are divided between the 37 Great Nats and all the rest (i.e., spirits of trees, water, etc.). Almost all of the 37 Great Nats were human beings who met violent deaths. Hanging on the columns of the house skulls of mython (wild ox) that have been sacrificed.
