Over a period of 2-3 months the UAE experiences extreme summer heat where average daytime temperatures can range between 38-42 degrees celsius. The normally packed beaches become deserted, enabling me to shoot minimalist scenes with zero distraction. There's little wind in the summer, so I made sure I shot early in the morning to limit the wave chop on the ocean surface. The morning light rose from behind me reducing the contrast in the shadows and painted soft light over the main subjects.
