The American Mustangs: Ruggedness and scars are testimony of their courage, resilience and strength in their daily quest for survival in the harsh desert plains. Their domineer screams majesty, in action or simply resting. In 1971, the “Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act” was passed by the United States Congress. The Act declares these iconic animals to be “living symbols of the historic land pioneer spirit of the West.” Only one other species has ever received this level of protection in the US: the American Bald Eagle.
