This image was taken during lockdown in June 2020 using empty gin bottles and glassware of different sizes and shapes. I wanted to reflect the feelings of this extroardinary time of mixed emotions which varied from uncertainty, confusion, joy, humour and togetherness. Reimagined, these peonie blooms, taken in the sunlight of my home kitchen, represented 'the morning after the night before' - wherein after the excessive consumption of alcoholic drinks some flowers shine and don't want the night to end whilst others slope off and seek the shadows.
