A selection of images from a series entitled Black Holes, a metaphor for trauma and the way we are pulled towards it, without a means to escape. Visually, inspiration was taken from 16th century landscape paintings as well as the classical female nude. I wanted to invite the spectator to a seemingly picturesque view instead of scaring off the viewer by a confrontation with the horrific. Nevertheless, one can tell that something in the depicted scenes is not quite right. All photographs were taken in locations where war has altered the landscape, yet nature has reclaimed its place.
