Martin Oeggerli aka Micronaut is visually exploring smallest forms of life with scientific accuracy and methodology. The series presents hand-colored Scanning-Electron-Microscopy images of mites. They are all below 1mm in size and live in soil, as parasites on birds or aquatic in small ponds.

Biography

Martin Oeggerli aka Micronaut is an internationally recognized scientific photographer and has appeared in numerous National Geographic feature articles since 2009. His works display his unique perspective with profound clarity and are based on his scientific expertise and personally-executed preparation, electron-microscopy and post-processing. Since 2005 his award-winning works have regularily been published by the greatest names in science and photography, such as BBC, CELL, Nature, VOGUE, and National Geographic.
