Immigration policies and reception procedures really aren't the best
of Italy.
In the pictures in attachment, you can find a great example of how
Italians are not what the world usually thinks about Italy: the
Eritrean refugees that was in Bari find a place where start again
their life with the support of a group of young italians: they
squatted an old school, the Socrate, giving new life to the place and themselves.
Now everyone calls this place home.

Biography

Massimo Barberio is a photographer from Puglia who focuses his work on long-term
social documentation projects.
In the last years his works have been exhibited at major festivals around the world,obtaining over 60 international awards; his works are also present in private collections and in museums. He has recently started the studio/gallery "La Scattiera" in Acquaviva delle Fonti, a transversal center for images and training, through which he deals with photographic services, cultural projects, consultancy and curation.
