Everyone has a screen before one's eyes. Whatever it shows reveals whatever one thinks. Misunderstanding a screen as the reality is a common fallacy. It is this fallacy that gradually blurs the line between one and the other. A single scene can be translated into multiple screens. Each translation is made possible only with manipulation. One pushes the color saturation of fireworks up in the sky. Another waits hours just to capture two identical gestures on the street. Digital manipulation occurs in post-production. ‘Mental manipulation’ is almost never an afterthought.
