This is part of a project that explores how numerous external forces, competing interests, corruption and the unsustainable exploitation of land & water resources are severely affecting the island of Antigua. Alterations in agriculture & the robust foreign development of coastlines have led to many environmental problems, including: soil erosion, contamination of mangroves, rainforest clearance, chemical & sewage pollution, sand mining and overfishing. Capitalism & globalization have stepped in where colonialism supposedly ended and continue to influence the current political infrastructure, the tourism industry and diplomatic relations abroad.
