‘Still Life’ is seen as a display of objects, otherwise known as Rhopography-‘the depiction of trivial, everyday things’. But, ‘Still Life’ has also portrayed tables of outrageous abundance. These images illustrate the over-consumption of both mundane and decorative “stuffs”, through the idea of ‘Xenia’ - the Greek concept of hospitality from host to guest. The work entices the viewer as a visitant; to explore through photography, the senses of the exotic, blissful objects, presented rather than represented for you. So please, I invite you in to this table of plenty.
