Erika Santana, 29, is a local fisherwoman and a mother of four children in Valle de Bravo, Mexico. Santana has been fishing since 13. She spends more than 10 hours fishing and doing house work in between. Santana wanted to be a doctor when she was young, but it is a dream that never came true. She still wants to be a doctor, but as a fisherwoman, a wife and a mother, she know she could never achieve her childhood dream. Santana hopes her 12-year-old daughter Jimena Ponce won’t suffer as she has and could one day become a doctor.
