Philippines has a very rich culture and traditions such as celebration of different festivals. Pahiyas Festival is the festivity of thanksgiving for a year of fruitful harvest to the patron saint of farmers San Isidro Labrador. The locals put decorations to their respective houses which termed as Pahiyas. The decorations usually composed of rice grains, fruits, flowers and kiping which are leaf-shaped and multi-colored rice paste wafers and are used to decorate facades. Aside from colourful decorations, one highlight to look forward during a parade is the.Parikitan which showcases the local designer’s talent in designing costumes using raw materials.
