My mother planted a tree for each child. My tree is in front of the house where I spent all my childhood. The house has a welcoming garden. I grew up together with the tree, playing and imagining futures in the garden. Today, in the name of progress, trees are cut down and replaced with concrete in the city. We are destroying the present and the promise of tomorrow! The essay celebrates the symbiosis between humans and nature through the ordinary moments of life, connecting images from two distinct times (present and childhood) in the coexistence of the girl-woman with the tree and the garden.
