Nan Oshin these images evoke perfectly the sense of disaster and harm the environment has suffered as a function of our carelessness and misuse. They do not need your description to tell their story, which for me, makes them quite poignant & successful on a narrative level as well as on a photographic one.
As a photographer, I am fascinated by landscapes that should be pristine but instead are marred by all kinds of human-made leftovers big or small. I view this as a huge environmental issue and also as a tell-tale sign that we don't take our responsibility for the environment seriously, in rich and poor countries alike. This is an ongoing photographic project for me; the ten images presented are shot in Scotland, Chile, Norway, Serbia, Alaska and Canada.
