Zhai Honggang With ingenious light and shadow and various composition, the work looks very cool.
Self-portraits I took at my home from the beginning of lockdown in France up until now. In this series, I use the limited environment I am in as the setting or prop to tell stories with me as a protagonist. I do not manipulate the environment, but I spice it up through aesthetic choices. I hide my face to add to the sense of mystery and ambiguity I want for my images and maybe because that's how I present myself to the world. I play a character, as such, I did not intend to explore my inner self. However, I found later that the images reflect my world: Always inside looking out.
