What makes one photograph stand out when jurors are looking at hundreds—or thousands—of images? Drawing directly on their experience judging the IPA competition, the panel explores how photographs are evaluated: first impressions, originality, storytelling, technical execution, context, single images versus series, and the discussions and disagreements that ultimately shape the results.
